Life in the years to come | ||
What lies ahead? As far as Fredcat is concerned he takes a philosophical view of life, namely that the phrase "What will be, will be" is a pure extension of "What has been, has been", with less emphasis on the "hasbeen", if you see what I mean! Fredcat's flowery future Life at the moment is pretty much blissful. With human servants in attendance, good food a-plenty, and cosseting virtually on demand, what else could a famous cat wish for? On the other hand there are adventures to be undertaken, lady cats and a plethora of baby cats to be saved, buildings to be leapt in a single bound, (er, no), whole worlds to be prevented from collapse, Armageddon to be put on hold. Now where was I? Oh yes, just dreaming a little. Or am I? Actually not entirely dreaming. As a famous cat, I have a special relationship with some of the "powers that be". As I mature, I am finding that demands for my services are increasing. I am not like the English detective Sherlock Holmes, who used to pace the floor of his apartment waiting for some difficult problem to be presented to him by maidens in distress or senior members of government, or like Hercule Poirot, the famous Belgian detective who virtually retired from solving murder mysteries because of lack of opportunities (he was, in my opinion, a little bit too fastidious in manner). I, Fredcat, am surrounded, nay besieged, by famous things to do. Read my diary and you will see. My first task is to lay the groundwork to rid the world of some evil dictators - there are still a few of these left. Then I will see what can be done to save a few lady cats and associated offspring who find themselves in distress (colour me overhelpful, if you must, but I have always had a bit of a soft spot for lady cats in distress). After that I need to address the world shortage of food, particularly cat biscuits. Then I have to spend time to look after my mistress Cathie, who really, really needs me. Better make that last one my first priority. Again, see my diary. So you see folks, as they say, "The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades". |
