Things we like and things we don't | ||
Fredcat has many likes, and quite a lot of them relate to food. Yes, he is as fussy as the next cat but not so fussy that he will forego food altogether. Food preferences appear to be as follows: any meat that Cathie likes, followed by prawns, tuna, yogurt, and some varieties of ice cream. I like to sleep and eat! Water is best if it comes from a puddle as it clearly contains those extra nutrients essential to a cat's health - much tastier than what Fredcat sees as the "bland" tap water placed in his drinking bowl each day. Milk is fine!, as long as it comes from a cereal bowl, whether the human user has finished with it or not. Fredcat feels that there is no need to completely drain the bowl of milk, he just has to lick up enough to ensure that human interest in the milk evaporates instantly. Fredcat has a good command of the English language - and a good smattering of some foreign ones as well - and he does like to be talked to. He definitely likes to hear the word "food" and is particularly interested whenever the refrigerator door is opened as he is aware that tasty morsels always reside therein. He has a highly developed built-in "radar system" which tips him off whenever humans approach the refrigerator. He adores being sung to and silently sings along with great concentration whenever Cathie performs for him. On the other hand we must recognise that there clearly are some noises which pain him. For example, the emptying of the dishwasher gives him so much grief that he fairly shrieks in anger whenever a dish or utensil is scraped. He tells us that a cat's hearing is such that they are able to hear noises at four times the volume at which humans hear them - so the banging of a dish must sound like a thunderclap to the poor feline. Near the top of Fredcat's likes is Cathie's bed, especially if it has not been made. The comforting folds of unmade sheets can be easily snuggled into and there are numerous positions that can be adopted when one has the time to shuffle around in the bedding. Another liking of Fredcat's is to position his good self exactly between two humans sat in chairs, talking to one another. Fredcat's ability to intersect the line of sight between said humans is truly incredible and appears to be based on the premise that he, Fredcat, should be the centre of attention, being the famous cat that he is. Another major preference of Fredcat's is for all doors to be left open thereby enabling him to walk, untrammeled, between all rooms in the house. Indeed, Fredcat will sit for quite a while looking at a door or window, just waiting for it to be opened, and will then saunter slowly, making his point, through the opened doorway, rubbing his fur on the door jamb as he goes to tell you that it is HIS door and not yours. Fredcat is also fond of ladies who have long fingernails. Long nails are excellent for raking through a cat's fur and it is such a fun thing for a cat that usually the human tires of the exercise long before Fredcat does. A stiff wire bush has a similar effect - but is not as much fun, as far as Fredcat believes. |

This is little me
- I am so smart!
Frecat the Famous is well aware that cats are "picky" creatures, but that is their nature - so get used to it!
